This is IT, the trailer speaks for itself. Want to know more? Me too, go visit Cinematic Titanic and find out for yourself. I find myself tingling with anticipation.

In short, this is the re-birth of MST3K, without the puppets, or corporate takeovers. What gets me is Joel and crew get to try and make money on something we here in the “buffer” have been doing and continue to do in our own living rooms. I thought we were the only inmates that would routinely and purposefully subject ourselves to the punishment of bad movies.

Our ritual is called Stoopid Movie Sunday. While we are no longer bound to any single day of the week, we still give homage to it’s original conception. We occasionally go to the our local (and sometimes not so local) video rental store and scour the shelves in an attempt to find the case with the most dust and barely legible faded print. Barring that, we would then seek out the most uniquely obtuse and bizzarre. Many a night we would emerge victorious (or is it repulsed?) from the foreign film section. We would come back with such gems as GI Bro, Ratboy, and Tampopo. Anymore, to get good quality stinkers, the 3 for $10 bin at Wal-Mart will do in a pinch (cheaper than a rental, and no late fees). We by no means are connoisseurs of good, er, bad film, but mere hecklers looking to shock and awe our fellow participants, for this is a communal event. An event where a quick wit and an even quicker tongue are paramount to good taste.

We got to see The Oozing Skull and it it pure riffing GOLD! We laughed so hard we had to stop the movie a couple of times to catch our breath and as not to miss a single riff of comedic heaven. We need to be able to watch it again and again, so if anyone wants to get me a birthday present (it’s today) no copy of The Oozing Skull will ever be turned away.
