Just a quick thought but, do you think the Sith realize they are the bad guys? I mean maybe they think they’re saving the galaxy or something and everone else just doesn’t get them?

That is the same thought that tries to label “terrorists” as “freedom fighters”. It’s all about perspective, and since history is written by the victors, then it is obvious why the Sith are portrayed as evil. Simply because the “rebels” were victorious and their perspective on the events is the one preserved.
